Creative Mother’s Day card ideas #01

“Decorated Mother’s Card”

Mothers Day card ideas Supplies:

Card stock 5x7, Used blank black card (you can create one using black construction paper)
Decorated paper of your choice.
Tip: maybe you would like to consider one of your mothers favorite colors or a design she might like.
White and black mat (you can substitute by using construction paper)
Rub-on Happy Mother‘s Day in black, you may substitute by using stickers or printing out your quotation in your mothers favorite font style, perhaps some fun curly letters or elegant style letters
Adhesive of choice
Black ink pad and Rubber Stamp with a beautiful design.Tip: in this example we have chosen to use a sunflower stamp to represent her brightness and beauty our mother possesses.

How to create creative Mother’s Day card ideas #01: Decorated Mother’s Day front

Take rubber stamp, black ink pad and white paper now rubberstamp your chosen design on it make sure it is no larger than 3x4 ½.
Tip: you can use a small stamp and stamp it multiple times. Stamp particularly towards the edge or your paper (to save paper), Set aside to dry while you are designing your handmade mother’s day card and continue to create your mothers day card idea that you have in mind.
Take black cardstock make sure it is 5x7, take decorated paper you choose cut it into 5x6, centering decorated paper into the center of your black cardstock glue down now.
Take black paper cut into a 4 ½ x 5 centering it into the center of the decorated paper glue down now.
Take white paper cut 4 tiny ¼’’x¼’’ squares and paste them into each of the four corners on black paper of previous step.
Take your decorated paper and cut 2 strips ½’’x 3 gluing in between tiny white squares on the top and bottom of black paper.
Take black paper cut a tiny strip to fit into the center of decorated paper strip of previous step.
rub-on your Happy Mother’s Day onto a 1x3 white paper, making sure it is centered and straight. Take black paper and cut into a 1 ¼’’ x 3 ¼’’ glue white paper with Happy Mother’s Day on to black paper centering it (it should have tiny black borders) Set this piece aside.
Taking a look at your card the center of it should be blank black, Now make sure your decorated rubberstamp is fully dry take it and glue it to the center of your card on the black (centering it on all sides, trim it if you must)
Now take your final Happy Mother’s Day Piece and glue down to lower left hand corner on your stamp!

How to create creative Mother‘s Day card Ideas #01: Decorated Mother‘s Card inside:
1. Taking same decorated paper used for the outside cut into a 5x6 (same size as on the front) glue this down to the center of inside
2. Take white paper cut into 5x5, glue this down to center of decorated paper in previous step
3. In this card we have decided to use a small memo paper with the saying “times like these“ and pasted it to the opposite side.
Tip: Be creative by and add anything as you wish on the inside making your Mother’s Day card even more creatively handmade … perhaps maybe an image or photo of good times spent!

How to create creative Mother’s Day card Ideas envelope:

Take same decorated paper (use remainder scraps to save you even more paper and feel free to substitute size to accommodate your scraps)
Cut decorated paper into a 1 x 4½ strip glue down to left side edge of card
Take white paper cut into 3 squares small size, glue one of them to the end of the decorated strip (near the top left hand corner). Take another square and glue it to the bottom of the decorated strip (near the bottom left hand corner).
Cut another decorated strip particularly smaller than the previous one, we made ours ½’’ x 5 now glue this strip down midway on top of bottom left hand corner white square lining the bottom of the envelop (do not cover entire square glue it midway).
Take final white square and glue down to end opposite end of previously glued decorated strip (bottom right hand corner)

Tip: Get more creative by using your decorated scissors to trim the ends on your envelope flap ( be sure not to cut all the sticky part off J) or get your card noticed by doing something different for a change like…putting Mothers day card verses on your envelope, huh?!…so you’ve got more room to write on the inside.
