Homemade Mothers Day Card Ideas

Aloha, Here is one of many homemade Mothers Day card ideas I created and wanted to share with all of you. I recently just started quilling and wanted to incorporate a little of that in my cards. Last night I quilled this tiny flower and had no idea of what to do with it. I was also trying really hard to create all my mothers day cards for family, friends and many by request. So I decided to incorporate it onto one of my homemade Mothers day cards and share it with you as a Mothers Day card idea. Below are supplies I used to create this beautiful homemade Mothers Day card idea...
Supplies... - Card stock, used black
- Plain blue paper
- Adhesive of choice
- Ribbon
- Rub-on, Happy Mothers Day
- Vellum quote, (you can create one using your computer, writing one out or searching for one online...Click here for some verses
- Flower Embellishments, use any of your choice
- Art pen and colored green pencil
Let's begin...
- First I measured my ribbon across the middle of my card. Then I glued it down
- Next I took my plain piece of blue paper and cut it out, so that it only covered the bottom half of my card. Leaving some black space around it as borders. Then I glued it down.
- I Used a rub on that said Happy Mothers Day and rubbed it, on the top of my card.
- Next I Used my vellum quote and glued it to the middle of my blue paper.
- With my drawing pen, I then started to draw a vine with leaves on the bottom right hand side of my blue paper as shown above in the photo. And then colored it in with my green art pencil.
Tip: You can create anything you want on the bottom right side of your very own card.
- Next I used some of my flower embellishments and decorated my card. Placing a big one on the far left side in the middle on top of my ribbon and then placing another smaller flower in the middle. Gluing them both down onto the card.
- Then I decorated flowers around my vellum quote. Use any thing you wish to use. Or create your very own flowers.
- Lastly my Quilled flower on the bottom right hand corner. I quilled all four sides 2 black and 2 blue and then glued it down. On top of my quilled flower I glued another glitter flower embellishment to add some pop to it.
And that was it!. My first Homemade Mothers day card idea created with a tiny quilled flower on it. If you can quill or have been quilling for quite some time. Thats awesome. It takes a lot of work and I hope to do much better next time and share with you more creative quilling cards.
