Create creative Birthday card ideas: “Birthday Reggae”

This homemade birthday card idea is really easy to make.
just paper and 1 brad, don’t have any brads just use a
marker and color a black dot.

I Created this card for simple minded people and I liked
the colors of the lay out. It only took me 5 minutes to
make.

Creative birthday card ideas #11: “Birthday Reggae”

Approx Time: 5 minutes

Supplies

• Card stock, used a white blank card (you can create
  one using white construction paper)

• Plain Red, Yellow, Green, white & black paper

• Decorated surf paper or paper of your choice

• Decorative & plain scissors

• 1 black Brad

• Adhesive of choice

• Lettering of choice for Happy Birthday. I used a
  rub-on. Get creative and use a computer to print out
  decorative fonts or write them yourself

How to create creative birthday card idea Birthday Reggae Front:

1. Take a piece of decorated paper and cut it so it fits
   perfectly in the middle of your card stock. (You can use
   any type of decorated paper of your choice to give it the
   same feel but different look)

2. On a white piece of paper put the word “Happy” on it.

3. On a black piece of paper put the word “Birthday” on it.
   Then take the white piece of paper and cut around it in
   a rectangular shape leaving about ½ inch of white space
   on the left.

4. Take the black piece of paper and using your decorative
   scissors, cut around it in a shape of a square leaving lots
   of black space like shown above in the photo.

5. Let’s create a 3 tier color block by gluing the black paper
   onto a red sheet. Then using your decorative scissors and
   cutting around it leaving some red on the edges. Repeat
   these steps for yellow and green layer.

6. When your tiers are complete, glue it down onto the top right
   hand corner of your card stock overlapping your decorative
   paper.

7. Next, take your white paper with happy on it cut a hole
   in the middle left hand side and insert a brad. (don’t
   have a brad draw a black circle on it, making it look
   like a brad).

8. Glue the right side of the Happy tag onto your 3 tier block
   and insert the brad right through the front of the card by
   cutting another slit and inserting the brad. Open prongs
   form the inside, so the brad can be secure.

9. Create another 3 tier color block for the bottom left corner
   using steps 4 & 5. This time cut it into a rectangular shape.

10. Once you’ve completed all blocks take your decorative
    scissors and cut along the right side edge of your card
    stock. As shown in the photo above.

How to create creative birthday card ideas Birthday Reggae Inside:

1. Use a piece of plain black paper, cut it to fit on the inner
   side of your card and glue it down

2. Then use a white piece of plain paper and cut it so it fits
   directly in the inside of the card leaving black as an
   bordered outline and glue it down.

Tip: You can use your scraps to decorate the inside of your
card or add embellishments. I left it blank, but feel
free to get more creative

1. I usually use my left over cut scraps to decorate my envelopes.
   Repeat steps 4 & 5 earlier on this page to create another
   3 tier color block and on it write to and from or anything
   else as you wish
